LaBrassBanda Kicks Off the „Polka Party“! New Album and Tour Dates for 2025 The Bavarian brass rebels are back with a brand-new album and an electrifying tour!
With their unique blend of brass, pop, techno, and ska, infused with Bavarian charm and a hefty dose of punk attitude, they’ve revolutionized brass music and captivated millions of fans. From Habediehre and Übersee to Europa, LaBrassBanda keeps delivering hit album after hit album while turning their high-energy live shows into legendary parties. What started in 2007 as a musical revolution that shook traditionalists in Bavaria while simultaneously drawing young audiences in droves to brass music performances, conquered the whole of Germany by 2013 during the national Eurovision Song Contest qualifiers. Sold-out concert halls from Berlin to Cologne and Hamburg to Munich soon followed. Language barriers? None to be found — even with lyrics in Bavarian dialect.
Festival giants like Southside, Hurricane and Chiemsee Reggae Summer saw their stages flooded with ecstatic fans as the band, led by frontman Stefan Dettl, lit up the night sky with their infectious fusion of brass, pop, hip-hop, ska and techno. Renowned for their explosive live performances, LaBrassBanda’s reputation quickly spread across Europe. In 2014, the classically trained musicians embarked on a Nightliner tour throughout the UK supporting The Damned and have since become a staple on major festival stages. Their 2014 album Kiah Royal was recorded in a cow barn, featuring guest musicians Christoph Well, Rocko Schamoni, and Stephan Remmler. In 2022, together with music journalist Jan Wehn, the band released Barfuß in Lederhosen um die Welt (“Barefoot in Lederhosen Around the World”), a mix of photo book and biography chronicling their travels to destinations such as Marrakesh, Novosibirsk and the US.
2024 was a defining year for the band. With the singles Goaßnmaß, Teufelstanz, and Space Bäda, they offered a taste of their upcoming album, showcasing their musical versatility once again. While Goaßnmaß celebrated friendship and good company, Teufelstanz delivered a powerful statement against antisemitism, racism, and discrimination. Space Bäda, a collaboration with rapper Roger Rekless, successfully ventured into new territory, fusing Bavarian sounds with modern hip-hop.
Now, their new album Polka Party is launched, featuring a hand-painted watercolor cover designed by renowned German artist Tobias Rehberger.
